Sociology Lecturer

About the Role

TR2 Recruitment is seeking an experienced A-Level Sociology Lecturer to join a Further Education college.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging A-Level Sociology teaching, prepare learners for examinations and support students to achieve strong academic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality A-Level Sociology lessons.
• Prepare students for A-Level examinations and assessments.
• Cover the relevant Sociology specification and examination requirements.
• Develop engaging teaching and learning resources.
• Assess learner work and provide effective feedback.
• Monitor student progress and put appropriate interventions in place.
• Support students with exam preparation and revision.
• Promote critical thinking, analysis and evaluation.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental activities.
• Support safeguarding, equality, inclusion and college policies.

Requirements

• Degree in Sociology or a closely related subject.
• Recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent.
• Proven experience teaching A-Level Sociology.
• Strong knowledge of A-Level Sociology curriculum and assessment.
• Experience preparing students for A-Level examinations.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to supporting student achievement and progression
