Recovery Coordinator – Substance Misuse Service

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Pay: £20.00 – £23.00 p/h (depending on experience)

Contract: 3–6 months (with a strong chance of extension)

Howay! We’re hunting for a dedicated Recovery Coordinator to join a lively support service up in Newcastle. If you know your stuff when it comes to harm reduction and want to make a tangible difference in the North East, take a look at this.

What you'll do:

Manage a structured caseload and handle regular risk and needs assessments.

Facilitate Opiate Substitution Therapy (OST) coordination, supporting clients through titrations, prescriptions, and adherence monitoring.

Deliver targeted harm reduction interventions, including safe injecting advice and overdose management (Naloxone distribution).

Conduct Blood Borne Virus (BBV) testing and screening for Hepatitis B, C, and HIV, alongside proactive Hepatitis C pathway navigation and treatment support.

Provide evidence-based alcohol therapies and structured psychosocial interventions for substance misuse.

Team up with local criminal justice, housing, and clinical teams to ensure joined-up care.

What you need: Experience in substance misuse, valid enhanced DBS, and standard UK Right to Work.
