Prime Placers is a fast-growing specialist recruitment agency with over 20 years of industry experience. We supply HGV Class 1, Class 2 and 7.5T drivers, freight and logistics professionals, and construction trades and labour to businesses across the UK.

We currently pay 40–80 temporary workers each week across 20–30 active clients, and we're growing fast. We're now looking for an experienced Finance Manager / Accounts Assistant to take ownership of our finances and help shape the future of the business.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on role that blends day-to-day accounts and administration with genuine finance management. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll manage the full cycle from timesheet to invoice to payment. You'll also be a trusted voice on budgets and financial decisions.

You'll start on 15 hours per week, with hours increasing flexibly as the business grows, leading to a full-time role of 40 hours per week. Full training will be provided.

What You'll Be Doing

Accounts & Administration

• Processing and reconciling weekly timesheets for 40–80 temporary workers
• Preparing and submitting accurate weekly payroll information
• Raising and tracking purchase orders with clients
• Producing and issuing invoices across 20–30 client accounts, and chasing outstanding payments
• Managing the purchase ledger, supplier payments and expense claims
• Keeping accurate records in QuickBooks (or our accounting system)
• Handling driver accident report forms and any workplace accident or incident reports
• Dealing with finance queries from clients, workers and consultants
• General administrative duties as and when required

Finance Management

• Building, monitoring and reporting against company budgets
• Advising the MD on pricing, margins, cash flow and growth plans
• Producing management information, including cash flow forecasts, debtor reports and margin analysis
• Monitoring credit control and flagging client risk early
• Supporting month-end and year-end with our external accountant
• Improving financial processes as the business scales

What We're Looking For

Essential

At least 10 years' experience in finance, accounts or bookkeeping

Proven experience with timesheets, purchase orders, invoicing and credit control

Experience working to budgets and advising senior management

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to hit weekly deadlines

Confident with Excel and accounting software

Organised, self-motivated and comfortable working independently

Based in or near West Byfleet, with easy access to our office

Desirable

Previous experience in temporary recruitment or staffing

QuickBooks experience (preferred but not essential)

Understanding of weekly temp payroll and umbrella company arrangements

AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification
