Senior Accountant

About the Role

We are recruiting a Senior Accountant for a friendly, well-established accountancy practice in the Aylesbury area. This is an autonomous role, ideal for someone with solid practice experience who doesn't need much hand-holding. You'll manage your own portfolio of clients, including a good number of sole traders, take ownership of statutory accounts work, and act as a technical point of reference for more junior members of the team.

What you'll be doing

• Managing a varied client portfolio autonomously, including a number of sole traders
• Taking ownership of statutory accounts preparation to a high standard
• Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team
• Building strong, lasting relationships with clients
• Acting as a technical point of reference within the office
• Managing your own time and workload with minimal supervision

What you'll bring

• ACA, ACCA, or qualified by experience (QBE)
• Around 5 years' relevant experience gained within an accountancy practice
• Solid exposure to statutory accounts
• Experience managing sole traders
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff
• A self-starter mentality - comfortable working autonomously

What's on offer
£35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience, plus a genuinely autonomous role, a supportive team environment, and the scope to make the position your own
