Factory Operative Nights

A great opportunity has arisen with one of our long-standing engineering clients for a Factory Operative to join their Casting department in the Medway area. The position will initially be offered on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent role.

You will receive a minimum of one week's training on the day shift, working Monday to Thursday, 07:30-16:00, and Friday, 07:30-14:30, totalling 39 hours per week. The hourly rate during training is £12.86 per hour.

Following training, you will move onto the full night shift, working Monday to Thursday, 18:00-06:00, totalling 46 hours per week at £14.79 per hour.

Previous factory or manufacturing experience is essential, although full training will be provided for the specific duties involved.

The Role

You will support the safe and efficient running of the Casting department, carrying out a range of production duties, including:

Operating and loading/unloading robots

Carrying out hand dipping

Mixing and testing slurry

Operating the boilerclave

Processing components in line with work instructions

Completing production records and job cards

Carrying out quality checks

Following health and safety procedures and using PPE correctly

Carrying out manual handling duties safely

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

Experienced in a factory or manufacturing environment

Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious

Able to follow written instructions and procedures

Detail-oriented and committed to quality

A good team player with strong communication skills

Comfortable carrying out manual handling duties

Willing to learn and complete the required training

Able to commit to the full night shift once training is completed
