The Opportunity

An established UK designer and manufacturer of high-quality lighting solutions is looking to appoint an experienced Sales Manager to drive new business growth and develop key customer relationships across the UK.

The business designs and manufactures a broad range of LED and specification lighting solutions for commercial, industrial and architectural applications, including bespoke products tailored to individual projects.

This is a commercially focused position suited to an ambitious sales professional who understands technical products, can identify and develop new opportunities, and is comfortable building relationships at multiple levels within customer organisations.

Previous experience selling to manufacturers is essential for this position. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a successful track record of developing and winning business with manufacturing customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, target and win new business opportunities across the UK.
• Develop strong relationships with manufacturers and other key commercial customers.
• Grow existing accounts while identifying opportunities for increased revenue and product penetration.
• Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline and take opportunities from initial contact through to close.
• Understand customers' technical and commercial requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Work closely with internal design, technical, manufacturing and operations teams to deliver customer requirements.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and commercial presentations.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts and commercial terms.
• Conduct customer meetings, site visits and product presentations.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts and report on pipeline activity and performance.
• Monitor market activity, customer requirements and competitor developments.
• Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, industry events and exhibitions.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a proactive, commercially driven sales professional with experience selling technical or manufactured products within a B2B environment.

Essential requirements include:

• Proven experience selling to manufacturers – essential.
• Strong B2B business development and account management experience.
• A demonstrable track record of winning new customers and growing existing accounts.
• Experience selling technical, engineered or manufactured products.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Ability to understand technical customer requirements and translate them into commercial opportunities.
• Confidence dealing with decision-makers at multiple levels.
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivated and comfortable managing a territory and sales pipeline independently.
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK as required
