We're pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client - one of the fastest growing commercial wholesalers in Europe, in their search for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee and optimise their busy logistics operation. This is a hands on role where you’ll take ownership of compliance, fleet performance, driver management and day‑to‑day transport efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily transport operations, ensuring efficient routing, scheduling and delivery performance
Lead, support and develop drivers and transport staff
Maintain full compliance with all transport legislation, including tachographs, Working Time Directive and vehicle safety
Oversee fleet maintenance, inspections and defect reporting
Monitor KPIs such as delivery performance, cost control and utilisation
Ensure accurate record‑keeping for audits and regulatory checks
Liaise with internal teams, suppliers and customers to resolve transport related issues
Drive continuous improvement across transport processes and standards
Legal & Compliance Requirements
Valid Transport Manager CPC qualification (essential)
Strong knowledge of Operator Licence obligations
Understanding of DVSA regulations, vehicle roadworthiness and driver hours
Experience managing compliance systems such as tachograph analysis and maintenance schedules
