Receptionist – Job Description
Full Time – 39 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 8:00-17:00 & Friday 8:00-16:00)
Location - Office Based, Gosforth
Salary – up to £25,775.88
Maternity Cover – 12 months
Our Client is a leading family-owned mechanical and electrical contractor based in the North East of England. For 100 years, we have delivered high-quality engineering services across the public and private sectors, combining technical expertise with the values and reliability of a long-established family business.
They are seeking a highly organised and experienced Receptionist to join our fast-paced team. You will be responsible for supporting the team with the day to day administration and act as the first point of call for general queries.
Key responsibilities:

• Call handling
• Scheduling Appointments and Meetings
• Handling Enquiries: Respond to questions about the company and our services by phone, email, or in person.
• Managing Mail: Prepare and send outgoing mail and packages.
• General Administration: Assist departments with printing, copying, scanning, and general office tasks.
• Complete data entry, filing, and maintain visitor sign-in sheets.
• Help create brochures, forms, and print drawings for the Electrical and Mechanical teams.
• Prepare and file tender letters and documents for new projects.
• Maintain organised filing systems for tenders and projects
• Order and manage office supplies to ensure stock levels are maintained.
• Organising training and ensuring records are kept up to date
• Tracking staff sickness absence

Requirements:

• Proven experience in similar role
• Strong IT skills
• Accurate data entry skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
