Location: Maylandsea, Essex
Salary: £30,888 per annum (inclusive of allowances)
Hours: 4 on, 4 off - 9:00pm – 8:00am

Are you a calm, caring, and dependable professional who finds purpose in helping others? We’re looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our dedicated team at a children’s residential home in Maylandsea, Essex.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in providing safety, comfort, and reassurance to children and young people aged 8–17 throughout the night — supporting their emotional wellbeing and ensuring a secure, nurturing environment.

About the Role:

As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll be responsible for:

Monitoring and supporting young people during night hours, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.

Providing a calm, caring presence and responding appropriately to any incidents or emotional needs.

Maintaining accurate logs, reports, and safeguarding documentation.

Carrying out light household duties and preparing the home for the following day.

Working closely with day staff to ensure consistent and high-quality care.

What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience working with children or young people (residential experience desirable)

Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Full UK driving licence essential.
