ANP / ACP

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and autonomous Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our friendly GP surgery in Macclesfield on a locum basis.

The successful candidate will work as part of the primary care team, providing high-quality, patient-centred clinical care to patients presenting with a wide range of acute, chronic and undifferentiated conditions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ANP looking for flexible locum work within a supportive GP practice environment.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake autonomous clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients.

Manage patients presenting with acute and minor illness, including appropriate assessment, investigation and safety-netting.

Assess and manage patients with long-term conditions where appropriate to the role.

Request and interpret relevant investigations and act on results appropriately.

Prescribe safely and appropriately within scope of practice and current prescribing legislation.

Recognise and appropriately manage patients who require urgent or emergency medical attention.

Make appropriate referrals to secondary care, community services and other healthcare professionals.

Provide clinical advice, education and health promotion to patients and carers.

Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records in accordance with practice and professional requirements.

Work collaboratively with GPs, practice nurses, healthcare assistants, reception/administrative staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Participate in clinical governance, safeguarding and practice quality and safety processes.

Provide appropriate follow-up, review and safety-netting for patients.

Work within professional competence, maintaining awareness of limitations and seeking GP or senior clinical support when required.

Essential Requirements

Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.

Qualification in Minor Illness and Independent Prescriber
